Lezly, originally from Matamoros, Mexico, grew up in Brownsville for 13 years before attending the University of Texas at Austin. After three years, Lezly received her Bachelor of Arts in Government and a minor in Spanish with high honors. Prior to attending law school, Lezly worked at a boutique law firm and a corporate immigration firm in Austin, Texas. After a few years of gaining legal experience, Lezly attended the University of Texas School of Law. During that time, Lezly served on the board of the Chicano/Hispanic Law Students’ Association and was a member of the First-Generation Law Students Association. Lezly was a proud recipient of the National Women Judges Association Access to Justice Scholarship and the Lela and Robin Gibbs Endowment of Excellence Scholarship in Law during her time in law school.
Lezly is a member of the Cameron County Bar Association, Cameron County Young Lawyers Association and the Texas Association of Defense Counsel.
